Have you ever wanted an easy way to make flavorful garlic bread, sauces, and stews without peeling, chopping, or roasting garlic as needed? Garlic can be a tedious ingredient to work with, as the paper can become sticky, the garlic smell stays on your hands, and it can burn very easily when cooked.

Save yourself the trouble and keep a jar of Easy Roasted Garlic Spread in your fridge! Premake this spread by roasting a few heads of garlic, then blend it up in the blender to make your spread! This spread can last up to a month in the fridge and is perfect for so many culinary needs!

Applications for This Recipe

Having roasted garlic on hand can flavor anything your heart desires. Because the garlic is already cooked and caramelized, it does not require further cooking. Garlic becomes sweet and mild when roasted, which is not overpowering to any dish.

Ingredients in Easy Roasted Garlic Spread

  • 4 heads garlic, cloves peeled
  • ½ cup olive oil
  • 1 sprig rosemary
  • 1 teaspoon salt

How to Make Easy Roasted Garlic Spread

Separate and peel your garlic cloves. To peel them quickly, place unpeeled cloves in a lidded jar or tupperware. Place the lid on and shake vigorously to separate the skins.

Once peeled, add the garlic cloves to a saucepan. Cover with the oil and add the rosemary sprig.

Bring to a low simmer and cook the garlic until soft and golden brown, about 15 minutes, stirring frequently.

Allow the garlic and oil to cool slightly. Remove the rosemary.

Add the garlic cloves to a food processor along with a few tablespoons of oil. Reserve the rest of the oil.

Blend until the garlic is very smooth. Season with salt and blend once more.

Add the spread to a jar. Top with the remaining garlic oil from the cooking process and screw the lid on tightly.

Store in the fridge for up to 1 month. Use for any application you like.
