How Do I Marinade the Chicken?
Of course, you can use leftover chicken for this recipe and save even more time this way. However, if you are making chicken fresh, there is a secret to this recipe; I use the same dressing as the chicken marinade!
By marinating chicken in some of your caesar dressing, you are imparting that flavor into the chicken before topping it with any additional dressing. It works perfectly for a 4-ingredient recipe and adds so much flavor to the dish. If you’d like to use other seasonings, go for it! However, using the dressing keeps everything super simple come lunchtime.
If you do marinade your own chicken, give yourself time to do so. Prep the chicken ahead of time so it is marinated, cooked, and ready for your wrap when you are. If you use other leftover chicken, that’s great, too!
Ingredients in 5-Ingredient Chicken Caesar Wraps
- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- ½ cup Caesar dressing, divided
- 1 head romaine, sliced
- ¼ cup Parmesan shreds
- 8 gluten-free flour tortillas
How to Make 5-Ingredient Chicken Caesar Wraps
Begin by mixing your chicken with half of the caesar dressing. Mix well with a spatula or your hands to get the dressing into the nooks and crannies of the chicken. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours to marinade.
When ready to cook, preheat a skillet or grill pan to medium heat. Oil the pan lightly if necessary. Add the chicken and sear, cooking for 6-8 minutes per side, depending on the thickness of the chicken. Once fully cooked, remove it to a plate and allow it to cool slightly.
Once cooled, slice your chicken thinly and set it aside.
Next, add the romaine and Parmesan to a bowl with the other half of the dressing. Toss until the lettuce is well coated.
Grab a tortilla and fill it with some chicken and some lettuce mixture. Wrap up the tortilla and place it seam-side down.
In the same grill pan or cast-iron skillet, add your filled wraps seam-side down over medium-high heat. Allow the seam to brown but not cook, which will also keep it closed when eating. Once browned, remove the wraps to a plate.
Slice in half and serve with more dressing if desired. You can pack them at this point for a traveling lunch in a reusable container.
