Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds chicken wings, cut into wingettes and drumettes
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • Olive oil spray
  • 1/4 cup hot honey
  • 1/8 cup hot sauce, such a Frank's or Crystal
  • Freshly chopped chives, for garnish

Instructions

  • Trim your wings into wingettes and drumettes if they came as whole wings.
  • Pat the wings dry with paper towels to remove as much moisture as possible.
  • In a bowl, add the cornstarch, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Mix well.
  • Add the wings to the cornstarch mixture, coating evenly. Place onto a plate. Spray with olive oil spray to keep them from sticking to the grill.
  • Heat your grill to about 400 degrees F using either charcoal or gas.
  • Place the coated wings over direct heat. Grill for about 5 minutes per side, turning as often as necessary. Remove to indirect heat if the wings are browning too quickly.
  • Meanwhile, mix the hot honey and hot sauce in a large bowl.
  • When the wings are cooked through, remove them to the bowl with the hot honey sauce. Toss the wings to coat in the sauce.
  • Serve with chives over the top.
