- 1 (15.25-oz.) box gluten-free chocolate cake mix
- 3 mashed ripe bananas
- 1 tsp grated orange zest
- 1 1/4 cups extra-creamy oat milk
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil, or melted butter
- Powdered sugar, for topping
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Butter a 10-inch springform pan and line the bottom with parchment.
To a large bowl, add the cake mix. Whisk to eliminate any lumps.
In another medium bowl, mash the bananas. Add the zest, oat milk, and oil. Whisk to combine.
Fold the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until no dry spots remain. Do not overmix.
Add the batter to the greased and lined pan. Tap lightly on the counter to eliminate any bubbles.
Bake for 60-65 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean with a few crumbs.
Remove from the oven and allow to cool for 30 minutes. Run a paring knife around the outside of the cake, and remove the sides of the springform pan.
Dust the top with powdered sugar before serving.
