What is Hot Honey?

Hot honey is a condiment and current trend in the food world. It is exactly how it sounds; honey that is flavored with heat! Many brands, big and small, now make a variety of hot honey. It is the perfect condiment for chicken, pizza, and even sandwiches!

Buy a high-quality hot honey variety and enjoy it on all your favorite foods. If you cannot find hot honey, use regular honey and add some crushed red pepper flakes. You will get the same sweet heat this way!

How to Make Grilled Hot Honey Wings

Trim your wings if they came as whole wings.

Pat the wings dry with paper towels to remove as much moisture as possible.

In a bowl, add the cornstarch, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Mix well.

Add the wings to the cornstarch mixture, coating evenly. Place onto a plate. Spray with olive oil spray to keep them from sticking to the grill.

Heat your grill to about 400 degrees F using either charcoal or gas.

Place the coated wings over direct heat. Grill for about 5 minutes per side, turning as often as necessary. Remove to indirect heat if the wings are browning too quickly.

Meanwhile, mix the hot honey and hot sauce in a large bowl.

When the wings are cooked through, remove them to the bowl with the hot honey sauce. Toss the wings to coat in the sauce.

Serve with chives over the top.
