As summer winds down, the perfect way to embrace late summer produce is with these Apple Waffle Sundaes, a lovely mashup of breakfast and dessert!
Sometimes we want ice cream for breakfast. Other times, we want waffles for dessert. Why can’t we have our cake and eat it too? Well, we can!
These incredible Apple Waffle Sundaes combine the crispness and freshness of apples, the creaminess of vanilla ice cream, and the warm cinnamon butteriness of waffles! Once you make this sundae, you will make it again and again for the rest of apple season!
Forgetting the Waffle Cone
Sure, waffle cones were all the rage at one point. Their crisp, sugary exterior plays well with soft, semi-frozen ice cream. However, thick, fluffy waffles go just as well with ice cream! The ice cream melts into the waffle crevices, creating a gooey treat.
Of course, if you would like to simplify the recipe, feel free to use your favorite prepared or frozen gluten-free waffles for this sundae. You will still get all the flavor with more time to yourself!
